"i think i will stay a bit longer. i'm finding i like it here quite a lot." eyes trailed over the features of her face with a gentle smile and he couldn't stop himself from giving her hand a gentle squeeze. the smile on his face softened even more when she said she would love to meet his sister and niece. "i'll have to let you know the next time they visit." as they reached the front and she ordered, kaan ordered a latte and breakfast sandwich for himself, then he paid and stepped aside to follow her along. "he is certainly a character. don't tell him that or it'll go straight to his head." his eyes trailed back over her, watching as she fixed up her hair and he reached out to tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "i'm still trying to find my way around here. my niece, ayla, facetimes me all the time, so i think half of my time is spent listening to her talk on about things going on back home." not that he minded because he loved his family. he thought for a moment and shrugged before their order was called. they grabbed their things and moved to sit down at a nearby table. "i like exploring and finding new things. and you?" he asked, his head tilting to the side. "i'm sure two days on and two days off means a lot of catching up on sleep, but there has to be more you enjoy doing."
"that would be nice..." she smiled and she looked over at him and raised her eyebrows. "oh, really? staying quite a bit longer?" she asked and bit into her lower lip. she laced her fingers with his and she nodded her head, "i do have a big family." miray smiled as he opened the door for her and she smiled as he explained about his family. "well, i'd love to meet them..." she nodded and walked up to the front of the cafe and she hummed softly. she ordered a cappuccino with a caprese salad. she moved aside to let him order for himself and she wrinkled up her nose at him before nudging his arm. "i enjoy him. he's a character, and i don't think i'm in danger around you." she ran her fingers through her hair and pulled some of it up into a half bun and she hummed softly. "what do you like to do when you're not helping your family run the hotel chain?"

"maybe i could help you learn more," he offered with a small smile. if it meant getting to spend more time with her, he wouldn't mind. in fact, kaan liked the idea of it because it meant he would get to know miray better. his head nodded a moment later. "it depends on the city and what they need of me. i do like it here, though. i have a feeling i'll be staying quite a while longer." after she stepped out of the car, he closed the door behind her and kaan didn't hesitate to reach out so he could lace their fingers together in order to guide them towards the cafe. "so, you have a big family then," he spoke and held the door open for them to walk through. "i've only got one sister and a niece. they still live in turkey, but they've been here to visit once." as they neared the front, his head tilted with a small smile and low laugh. "adem can be scrappy, but he's practically family. i've known him since we were young. but i don't want you to think you would be in danger around me because you're not."
"i have been to ankara -- my grandparents live in kulu." she traced her fingertips against her thigh and looked over at him with a little smile. "mmm, i speak french and swedish apart from fluent turkish, obviously. my parents taught me all of them from a young age. but i'd love to learn more." she shrugged and bit into her lower lip. "ah, yes...your family owns the chain, you just help run it. now you're helping run the one here in london? do you stay in cities long?" she asked and swallowed thickly. "i mean, i'm not squeamish. you get used to everything in trauma. i've lost patients, i've gained patients in the form of births that couldn't wait to happen until they got to the delivery rooms. my life is a lot -- well, my job is. i have three brothers. they all live in different corners of the world and i have nieces and nephews." she watched him park the car and then he opened the door for her and she laughed, the personal security just means your family is worried about you. it's nice. and you could be under attack at some point. so i'm very thankful you have adem. even if he gets too scrappy."

she called him bruce wayne and he only let out a low laugh as they reached a stop light. "ankara. i'm sure if you've been to turkey a couple of times, you've been to the capital." his head nodded and he looked ahead once the light changed and he began driving along again. "i am fluent. not to show off, but i've traveled around a lot for work, so i speak a little of too many languages to keep track of." seconds ticked on before he stopped his car outside of the cafe and turned his head to smile at her. "my family owns a hotel chain. i just help run it. for what it's worth, i've never dated a trauma nurse." until now, he thought and stepped out of the car to move around to the other side, holding the door open for her to step out, too. "the personal security is...a bit much. i promise, i'm not under attack or anything like that, so you have nothing to worry about."
"that's absolutely correct," she hummed and then tipped her head back and laughed over his batman comment. "okay, bruce wayne..." she murmured as he took off. she took a deep breath and looked over at him for a moment. "where are you from in turkey? i've been there a couple of times, but my parents had me here. you're fluent in turkish, right?" she asked and ran her fingers through her hair. "of course you own a hotel chain. you really are the real world's bruce wayne. i would meet our world's bruce wayne and go out for a date with him. you're a jump from the losers i've been with." she smiled over at him. "at least i hope so," she teased him.

"it's not worth it without the espresso." once they reached his car and she got in, he walked around and slipped into his seat. a smile curved at his lips as he quirked a brow at her. "i promise, you'll never see batman and myself in the same room." with a low laugh, he started the engine before driving them along. "there is a hotel chain in turkey that's been expanding and a location just recently opened up a ways down the road from here. you might have gone by it and noticed the giant 'S' on it. that 'S' stands for selvi."
she laughed when he mentioned filling her days off, up, and she nodded her head. "very smooth," she murmured and smiled up at him as they made their way to his car. "coffee sounds so good right now. especially if it has espresso in it." she wrinkled up her nose. "i would hate to fall asleep on you, too. i would be horrified, honestly." miray climbed into his car and she placed her bag in his backseat before buckling in. "this is...the nicest bloody car i've ever been in. my god. are you batman?" she teased and looked over at him. "what do you do for a living kaan? you have personal security and a batmobile."

she caught on to his mention of a second date and a smile curved at his lips when kaan saw the look she gave him. "you've got the days off, so you might as well fill them up with something to do, right?" her arm looped with his and he looked down with his smile softening before his head tilted to meet her gaze as they made their way out of the trauma unit and walked along towards his car. "there's a little cafe about a mile from here. we could get you some coffee, maybe wake you up a little. i'd hate it if you fell asleep on me. i think that might negate a second date."
"no, no... i'm good. i really need this," she laughed and hitched her bag higher on her shoulder. she gave him a little smile when he mentioned not minding if she was still in scrubs. "well, we don't have to worry about that." she could hear the people's laughter in the distance and she glowered over at them. "somewhere sma - wait...our second date?" she said and gave him a teasing look. "yes. somewhere smaller would be great and then you can show me off on our second date, kaan selvi." she looped her arm with his and hummed as they made their way out of the trauma unit. "i had two days on, two days off, so i have a couple of days off after today."

leaning back against the far wall, kaan's gaze lifted with a soft smile taking over his features when he saw miray. "if you're too tired after your shift, i would understand." kaan pushed himself from the wall and stepped closer towards her and swore he could hear people snickering off in the distance. "i wouldn't even mind you still in scrubs." shoulders casually lifted in a half shrug. "if you're not too tired, maybe we could just go somewhere smaller and quiet for now and you'll let me show off to you on our second date."
a closed starter for my heart, @alkalinc, from miray & kaan.
after she got off, she changed into her normal clothes and pulled some of her hair back. a sigh escaped her as she walked out of the locker room and saw kaan leaning against the wall across the way. "...i thought you might have been joking, honestly," she chuckled and rubbed her eyes. "i hope you don't mind me in no makeup and looking a bit tired."
